Hi all, it seems simple, and maybe it is, but I cannot seem to figure this out... Here is what I am working with in this case:

Synthesizer (MIDI IN and OUT
rack sampler (MIDI IN, OUT, THRU)
rack arpeggiator(x2) (MIDI IN, OUT, THRU)
midi thru box (casio tb-1)...(MIDI IN and EIGHT THRUS)

OK, so I would like to play a sample from a line in source into the sampler, then map that sample across the synth (that part is easy, of course); then I would like to be able to arpeggiate the sample. Is this possible (MIDI-wise)? It seems as if it should be...

My other (related) question is, how do I use the two rack arpeggiators together with my synth? So far, I have only been able to use one with it (simple Synth to Arpeggiator MIDI send/recieve)...

Basically, I need MIDI connection help.

ANY HELP WILL BE GRRRREATLY APPRECIATED!

THANK YOU!

recording the sample and the arp a two separate things. Learn how to use your sampler first, there is more to it than just recording and mapping especially if it will be playing back at a fast tempo (like with an arp). You will need to set up envelopes for sure.

As far as the arp, it is just a matter of putting it between your midi controller and device. It is also worth mentioning that if you are using a comp, software ones are much better than the older hardware versions. Not knowing what you are using, cant really say more.

thanks for the reply..

I am mostly wondering about MIDI connections; i.e. ways to connect the above mentioned units in a manner in which they all recognize/interact/send/recieve with eachother. I suppose I am trying to have the sampler send/receive with the synth, and THEN have that information (i.e. a mapped sample) go to another MIDI rack (arpeggiator)... This sounds somewhat simple on paper but I have not been able to figure it out (I am pretty new to MIDI, however)... I was hoping the MIDI thru box would help but now I am just confused.

By the way, no computers.

Thanks again....
