Samba Baby with real Drums

I had posted this a little while ago with a drum loop. I sent it off to an awesome session drummer named Charlie Morgan and this is where the song ended up. There is relatively little processing going on and only 1 reverb...plus a little delay on the vox and strat leads. Charlie is a former rock god (Elton John Band for 13 years!) who does very reasonable session work for indies like myself. Given how busy he is touring I am always amazed at how quickly he gets to my material. I did do a lot of time editing, especially to the bass line, to sit right on the kick. Let me know if you'd like to use him...he is really a great guy all around.

I like how the song opened up as I stripped away reverb, etc. What do you think of the mix?

Nice mix, very well performed. I did find the percussion playing the straight quarter notes down the middle a little distracting. It is very bright, and its sitting right above the vocal. I also found the cymbals a hair bright as well. Did you boost on the drum buss above maybe 5kish? I also thought the toms were a little hard to hear during the verses. Just minor stuff though. Overall, good mix.
