Sam, guys, Blues Rocker Remix Need Ears!

Good mix. Sounds like the right balance all around. A couple of things I might have done differently, I would've used more of the guitar that drops in around 2:39. Also you have your lead and fills panned to one side a bit. It's not that I'd have centered them but I would've like some symetry, maybe send it to a short delay panned hard the other way. That's just a matter of taste. Like I said, it's a good mix.
 
After reading what the preceding Right honorable Gentleman from Ballwin said ealier, I`ll just say it sounds good to me too :)
 
Nicely done. I remember the last mix and as memory serves this sounds better. Everyting seems to be sitting quite nicely.

I have listened to a few different versions of this tune since you started, and this is by far the best mix I've heard from you..

hi axe, since you paid i visit to my songs ill pay you back now.
i dont recall hearing the original to this song so i cant realy compare them.
i must say that i like the song alot you realy are a great guitarist.
i agree with what was said earlier about adding a little delay panned hard in the opposite direction to help splash it over a little. i downloaded this so ill burn it and have a listen on my big home theatre and let you know later what i think. thanks for sharing this and i must commend your playing i realy enjoy it.

Hey nice job on those guitar tones. They're perfect for the song. It's funny to hear someone still jammin to Green Onions. We used to jam on that one a lot when I was in High School. Class of "73 Rules! :eek:

Twist: I'm class of 73 too, Dude. Yeah that tune is a classic but I always wanted to hear the riff with lyrics. I left music in 1980 and never thought that I would return. Sometimes the Lord just has other plans though and I came back in late 2000.

Still sounds great to me!

I'm listening on phones,but I liked the way you picked up the rythym with the lead guitar between riffs,really gives it a full sound.

Nice to see this progress.

I like just about all of this. This is hard to decide where to put all the gtrs. I might put the ld gtr on the left, as a stereo gtr right down the middle...and being stereo, it will stay out of the way of the vocals(not that they play at the same time, however... that was done well). It seems such a dominate part to be stuck by its lonesome off to the left like that. I'd almost have to go back and listen to some of my old Johnny Winter albums and see what gives.

I would have to play around with this, to see what I like best about the panning. As far as the tones, playing, etc... it's all there.

ok as promised i listened to this through my home stereo through my mach audio 360 car stereo and then i drove over to my singers house and gave it a roll on her bose, and i must say it sounds very good on all these stereos. im the one who gave you the stars(i only meant to give you one star for being a worker for the lord, but ive never used the star thing before and accidently gave you 5.) so 1 of those is for a wonderful blues player i know and think is a wonderful guitarist doing the lords work. the other 4 are for the lord for being in our lives. thanks for sharing this. the music is great and the music is very godly. you cant go wrong.

Hey Mix! Thanks for the Listen and Comments. When ya pull John Dawson the III's albums out, you'll find that his Geetar is generally Panned Left. At least on the stuff from Capitol and Blue Sky in the 70's. He was always a major influence on me back in those days. My Favs were And LIVE and Captured LIVE. ;)

Yeah, there's alot of Guitar's on this tune. LOL

Hey Pete! Thanks Bro. I used a Tweed Champ on steriods Model for that Rythymn. I used 4 different Amp Models and Three Guitars on it. :confused:

Till I got it right! LOL This was a hard one dude because of the way the original rythymn track for it was recorded. The major prob always stemmed from getting everything working together around that lemon.

But have no fear, all that I have to do now is pull the output compression off and it's ready to be Mastered by a friend in Bamalama. :D

hi axe,i just wanted to comment on what mister charva said, and im doing so with respect meant. i have been posting here for over a year now and ive seen alot of people post songs for critic and alot of us guys take alot of our time and try and help and then they never fix the song. i dont mind helping a guy if he is gonna actually use the info we give him,(i for one can definately say that if i didnt use the advice from this board i would stink tons worse at mixing than i already do). im not flaming you so please dont think that i am,i dont enjoy flaming people at all.(just wanna make a point). i am happy to see this song back up here again and if he still needs help again and again. at least this way we know that he is not wasting our time. dave i do mean this with all do respect like i said this wasnt meant to be a flame,and realy its not just directed at you. anyway thanks for listening. god bless you all. tim pate
