Is that the same "Voodoo" you posted a vid of, about a month or two ago? Man, SOMEBODY has been wood-sheding! Hardly sounds like the same band, vast improvement.

I'd say your experiment was a success- the sound is very good. Little to find fault with there, but it would have been nice to really hear the audience reaction at the end of the song.

I would like to know who the harp player was- I play some blues harp, myself. A good harmonica player can invigorate an entire band; I saw a zoot-suit wearing (I am not kidding you!) harpist get on stage with Bruce Dagrepont's Cajun Band, at Tipitina's Sunday Fais-do-do. At first, Bruce was not pleased, but that gig had become a bit stale for Bruce and his band- the harp player infused CONSIDERABLE energy into the whole band, and the crowd. I never found out his name, either...

Lead guitarist gets in some very tasty licks.

Critiques: Tempo is too fast. Nothing wrong with doing your own arrangement, but the sped-up tempo robs the song of it's mystique.
Lead singer is either not right for that song, or something- his raspy voice just didn't work with it. He too much "in his chest;" a little more "head" would help. JMHO, 'natch.

But overall, very good job. I guess I got to take all those mean, nasty things I said...

JK. :)

Same band. The video had a different singer (the bass player). This singer sings about 75% of their material (rhythm guitar player). The drummer sings about 10% and the bass the remaining 15% or so. The lead player sticks to what he does best, playing guitar. The harp player was sitting in with the band. He shows up every few weeks and plays when he feels like it. He used to play and tour with Jerry Jeff Walker. My only problem with the harp is that he may be in there a bit too much. On the final mix I may drop him out once in a while. Something goofy happened at about 53 seconds in. The drummer appears to have missed a couple of hits or something. I worked on trying to fix that abit today. If I get it right I'll delete this and post the revised version. It's a whole lot easier to fix that kind of thing in the box than it was with razor blades and tape. :)
