I heard a rumor that Roland will announce a Version 2 upgrade
for the BR-1600 at NAMM (which is going on now).

Can anybody verify this or comment ?

Don't Know About That But I See A Br-900 & A Br-1200 Are Going To Come Out Soon.

I havent heard anything, but i hope they add a noise gate, and gated reverb to the unit effects.

Update :

They are going to be adding Pitch Correction to the
BR-1600. (This from a NAMM demo video I just watched
on Roland's site).

No word on when a patch is coming though.

isnt there already pitch correction in the vocal tool box??

Yeah that confused me too..There IS limited pitch correction already available. I thought maybe they were going to 'improve' it by letting you manually 'adjust' pitch problems rather than having it automatically do it. I have not been THAT thrilled with the pitch correction capabilities on the BR. Kinda funky the way it alters the voice unless you are REALLY careful with it.

I just got back from NAMM and yes a new pitch correction will be added via firmware update. The new version of pitch correction is in the BR-1200.

I don't know, Roland's Phil Gates didn't have the full details from the tech heads yet.

Anybody heard anything else about this update yet ?

I've become OBSESSED !

I have to know what it does !!!!!!!

if you go to the BOSS site, and look at the BR1200 manual, based on what I've heard, the 1600 will have THAT pitch correction capability. I wasn't too impressed with what I read...hopefully it improves, but I'm not that hopeful.

Thats not enough !

I want massive action taken on major short comings of this machine !

I paid freakin $2000 Cdn for this thing, and their are comparable $1000 machines with as many features, and less dummy traps !
