is the body routed for only single coils?
dose anyone have a picture of the innards of an american standard strat?
thanks

i asked that very question at the music store last weekend. the guy said that all american models are, but he wasn't sure about the mexican strats. I don't know...i wouldn't count on it, but he obviously knew more than i did. why don't you email fender or something. Just a thought.

Hope that helps,
Brandon

hmmmk anybody have a pic of the inards, iof there was no specific pickup specifications for the boday, iw ould put in double humbuckers, but a lot of people have todl me its routed for a single coil p ups

If the guitar is at a local guitar store, you can find out pretty easily. Tap on the pickguard in between the pups and work your way towards the outter edge of the body. If it sounds hollow and then becomes dense, it will fit humbuckers. This routing job is also called a swimming pool. I believe it was in the 80's and 90's that they did this because it cut down on production costs, but also messed with the tone. The word on the street from Fender is that they have discontinued this practice and only do routing for single coils on their recent Strats (last couple of years). However, I'm not sure whether or not American Strats were routed like above.

are all american fenders supposed to come wiht hardshell cases. cuz for some reason i had to pay for mine.. was i jipped? waht shoudl i do?
also i was supposed to get a 100 dollar rebate from fender which i never got, waht about thaa also

thanks guys

i dunno. i might jsut put in a hotrails but im still not sure on how im gonan work this out

ive allready basically set myself on a bridge position hot rails,
the issue at hand is if itll be worth it. how much better does it make the guitar sound then the regular sc p ups
\

Its not the pickups that make you sound good, a crap player is still a crap player no matter what they play and a good player makes a crap guitar sound good.

"Why would you put double humbuckers on a strat????????

If that is the pickup you wanna use get an SG or Les Paul....... or a Jazzmaster or Jaguar...........

Why fuck up a perfectly good American Std Strat??????"

yeah.....whats C7sus said.

i need a better sound for a modern distortion, and everyone seems to be recommending the jb jrs and even more so the hot rails..
