Oh! I see..

Well, I wasnt in sync... sorry, probabely my bad english :(

So, no, you cant in Cubase. well if someone know how, I'll be glad to learn something new!

Go in Wavelab, or Sound Forge, or...x... and you 'll be able to merge your stereo waves.

In Cubase - there's a "Convert channels" audio process you can apply to convert a stereo track to mono.......

I found it...

Rockem, here is the solution:

Right-click on you stereo file,
chose the "process" then "stereo flip" options.

In "stereo filp" choose "merge"

:)

Ok I just tried it

And my first toughts were : what tha hell...this doesnt work!

...It works. It doesn't convert your track and channel in a mono one, but it build a mono copy on both side so, it's a "mono" track, with a stereo look :|

And it still tell you "mono/stereo mismatch" if you simply try to convert the track with the "0" "00" thing. :|

anyway, is it ok?

Sorry - yes... Kry's right... I meant "Stereo Flip"... "Convert Channels" is in Sound Forge!

doh!!!!!!!!

first, thanx for all the replies

I now understood that my VS1824 doesn't "merge" inputs
But it has an iinput mixer that let you sum channles to one track

Does cubase has an input mixer ?

No....

I still think you're making this WAAAAAAYYYYYY too complicated....... there's something about your methodology that appears convoluted.

Like I said earlier (a couple of times!) -- if you want to record mono out of your keyboard , simply use the mono output (which is typically the left channel of most keyboards). If you want stereo, then connect both channels.

It hasn't happened very often that I wanted to "mix input signals" onto one track of a recorder... this reduces the flexibility you have later on.... send them to separate tracks and blend as needed at mixdown.

nope.

Well once again, Blue Bear may find a "yes" to your question, but, I dont think so. ;)

And Rockem, I also dont really understand your goal!! :)

WHY all this?

F3, your mixer
F4, your outputs
F5, your inputs
F1, your helpfiles :p

you should find whatever you need to do whatever you want with those thing!

sorry dude, I try, but I dont understand your goal :(

Blue Bear, looks like you press the post button a few sec before me!

yep, 100% agree, the easyest way that you may do what you want to, is certainely to record your left channel only.

*shrugs*

Sorry rockem -- I don't understand what you're trying to do at all... but whatever it is, you're making it more complex than it needs to!!!

Good luck!
