Okay, I asked about the in the Cool Edit Pro forum, but that doesn't really get checked too often so I decided to ask it here, too.

I'm running a Soundcraft M12 and a Delta 1010 with Cool Edit Pro 2.0.

Now what I'm wondering is how do I go about routing the outs of my Delta 1010 into the line ins of my M12 track for track? I load up four seperate track in CEP and take the outs 1-4 from my 1010 to the line in 1-4 on my M12. I'm only getting a stereo mix in channels 1 and 2. Where do I go to set up the tracking coming out of the 1010?

I'll probably have more questions, so if anyone has any advice with routing then let me know. Thanks.

Sounds like your routing in the Delta control panel is wrong, or the routing in CEP is wrong. I don't have either so I can't specifically tell you how. so I guess RTFM! :D

It sounds like that should work. Do you have the router of the 1010 set for playback? Are you listening to the tracks one by one through the direct outs of the mixer?

i dont have Cool Edit installed on this computer so i cant be sure.....

i think on the 1010 outputs 1 and 2 also put out a stereo mix......but im not sure of that...but try using outputs 3,4,5 and 6 just for shits...

also make sure in Cool Edit that each of the 4 tracks you arm to record have each separate output listed as the source it should record from.....

any 1010 owners help me out on that first statement.....

You can route your outputs different ways, outs 1 & 2 can be used for a stereo mix, but can also be used for other things.

but im thinking it defaults to using the 1 and 2 as a stereo output and you can change it in the control panel if you wanna use it other ways...where in the control panel do you do that?.....

I'm just trying to figure this out, I'd expect it to be easy, haha. How do I get my tracks 1-4 in CEP to go out, track by track, of my 1010 outs 1-4?

Go in the M-audio control pannel and you can set any channel for whatever you want to playback. you can also use channels 1 and 2 as a stereo mixed output of all eight inputs.

I already have the 1010 control panel set as that. All of the top ones are clicked, which are 'wav out 1/2 to go to h/w out 1/2,' etc. It's still giving me a stereo mix out 1 and 2, and nothing out of the rest.

I think it might have something to do with the configuration in CEP, but I'm really not sure.
