Cool song. Very interesting rhythmic layers. Nice instrumental bit at 2:30.

Good guitars but I'd like to hear a little more attack in their rhythms (less compression if they're being additionally compressed) I like the drumset overall except that the sound of the snare is strident to me. Does it have a gated reverb on it? Personally, I don't care for that effect in this, whatever it is. :D I like the sound of the BG vocals. The main vocal is pretty sibilant and has an edgy high end. Is this running through an aural exciter of some type? If the vocal and snare were tamed I think the overall EQ balance would be just right.

Gary, I really like this. Has a dark tone to the vocals, that goes in a different direction than the music. Music is not so dark. I think the vocals would sit better if you eq'd some of the high end out of them, and then brought them up a bit....Main vocal that is. Background seems to sit well. I do like the way the vocals are somewhat "droney", if that's a word. They are just different, and really help to make this an interesting tune. Almost lends an industrial feel to the song.

Enjoyed the tune.

thanks a whole lot guys.. I spent alot of time recording a friends band than decided to try and mix my own.. i couldn't belive how different it sounded today when i had a chance to listen back.

Tim - I agree with everything you said i really rushed into this one. The drums are actually all sampled so the snare is an easy fix. The mic I used on the lead vocals is just real real sibilant (?) depending on what angle you hit it at. Thanks a ton for the comments.

Dogman - Funny enough most the stuff I do is absolutely of the heavier industrial genre. I usually don't post that kind of stuff just out of politeness lol. Again thanks for the comments both of you were real helpful, still at the begining of trying to mix this so very welcome comments.

I updated the file not that i expect anyone to listen twice, its barely updated just tryed to kill some of the high end on those vocals really.

Thanks alot again

The intro and vocals sound very haunting and dark to me, that's cool. Definitely an industrial feel to it. The guitars around 1 minute sound good and I like that riff. As far as the snare goes, it does sound sampled, but to me it sounds like it fits the song. If you are going for a more real sound you could adjust it a bit... You do that riff again around 2 minutes, I really dig that part, the way the rhythm works with the lead. Overall, good stuff, a dark and haunting song.
