im sure it gets asked all the time but what room is best to record in. my bathroom sounds great when im practicing classical and acoustic stuff, however it might not sound so great recorded. the other two rooms i have in mind is a small empty room and a medium sized room with wooden flooring.

cheers

You could try the bathroom. The medium room w/ wood floors will probably be better for recording acoustic stuff than the smaller rooms.

Having some acoustic panels/absorbers to place around the room can help.

its all gonna be nylon string acoustic stuff with vox. how does carpet effect the sound?

It usually absorbs high frequencies. Recording in a carpeted room is fine but for acoustic guitar/nylon a wooden floor can sound much better. There's a reason a lot of guitar shops have wooden floors (and usually walls) in the rooms where they put the acoustics. And why a lot of rooms in studios for acoustic guitar/piano have wooden floors.
