Roland XV-2020 Voices to sequence

I really love the sound of the roland voices. I'm not having any success getting my Yamaha QY100 sequencer to sequence, quantize or otherwise edit and control the XV-2020 voices. Both are GM and XG compadable. I bought the QY as a stand-alone sqncr for this purpose. (Not that the sounds in the Yamaha are lousy)

Maybe there's a MIDI class around here I can take to make this work. There must be some way I can get the M-Audio Keystation pro-88, (controller) the Roland and the Yamaha to work together. These are relativly new tools and I would like to keep them out and away from my computer biz.

Anyone up to the challenge?

I say i don't know if you remember because you seem to be crossposting like crazy trying to get someone else interested in helping you too...

You've already got an answer from Ted who's one of the midi experts here - he gave you a good link too that was different from mine.

Thanks hand. Yes I do remember you. And I'm sorry for the crossposting. This is new to me. Yes I've been following your links. searching for answers, trying to solve some MIDI problems. Very challenging stuff.

I do appreciate your's and Ted's efforts and help. However, the links so far, have not addressed the specific problem I've been having with the XV-2020 and being able to quantize and edit the voices through the QY100 without causing the QY to crash or otherwise "forget" the previous sounds on subsequent tracks. Every time I switch to the next "PART/patch ch of the XV-2020, the QY "wanders" or, reverts back to the default piano voice of the QY.

Please forgive me.
