Roland XP-30 (where?)

after skimming over the threads, i noticed that Roland XP-30 (or XP-50 - question! ..what's the difference between the two..?) is widely popular.. Is it because its sounds/capabilities? I looked for it in guitarcenter, musiciansfriend, samash...cant really find it.. is it outdated? I guess i can find some in EBAY but would prefer a new one.. where can i find it? Also, would 61 keys suffice as a added on keyboard (i got MOTIF8) for funky/synth solo/etc? any insights on this keyboard?

isnt ROLAND a little behind now? as far as keyboards/synth? behind yamaha/Korg?
 
I have a Roland XP-50. It came out around 1994. It has around 500 sounds, 8 drum sets, 3 effects units, a sequencer and a disk-drive. (one reviewer, Julian Colbeck, in his book "Keyfax Omnibus Edition", called its sounds: punchy, in-your-face, dance oriented). I don't do dance-music. I just want some decent bass, drums, piano, organ, and strings. The XP-50 has plenty of these basics, but it also has a lot sounds that are sort of wierd and "out there". According to what I have read the sounds are similar to the Roland JV-1080 module ('94). The Roland XP-10 came out in '95 and has a lot of the XP-50's sounds but no sequencer or disk-drive. The Roland XP-60 came out a couple of years later than the XP-50 and is an improved version of the XP-50 (better built keyboard and bigger information screen) but with the same sounds. The XP-80 ('96) added a 76 note keyboard. The XP-30 came out in the late 90's and is loaded with extra sounds from the JV/XP (mid 90's) era, including that of several popular expansion boards developed during that time. I don't think the XP-30 has a sequencer or disk-drive, but sequencing and saving songs can be handled by hooking it up to a computer with sequencing software. The XP-30 (like most of the XP's) has expansion slots so that one can add more sounds to the keyboard. I believe at least a dozen expansion boards were developed in the mid/late 90's, but I don't know if new expansion boards are still being developed for the XP line. I don't don't how the XP's compare to the new keyboards out now, but from time to time I will hear sounds in commercials that sound like my keyboard (I don't know if that is a good or bad thing).
