Roland U-8

I'm thinking about purchasing this to use with my computer desktop (and my eventual laptop setup).

Anyone here have any experience with this?

No experience, but I'm considering it too, along with the Tascam US428. The U-8 seems the better unit, given the effects. I saw it on audiomidi.com for $499. Have you seen a better price?

I went back and took another look and audiomidi.com doesn't mention a software bundle, which other web sites do. My understanding is that Edirol (http://edirol.com - the Roland division that is selling this thing) is bundling it with Cakewalk or Cubasis, but you might want to verify that auiomidi is selling it that way since I believe the software needs to be customized to the unit.
