roland midi?

so im getting a audio interface (layla 3g) next month with a midi input, and i think i might aswell make use of it.

so my question is, what software can i use to hook my roland up with my interface, then convert the midi i recorded into drum samples?

and im on vista which i understand has some problems midi, so will that be ok?

I don't have any experience with that particular interface, but the top two google results for "layla 3g vista" featured Vista drivers... Yes, I'm bored.

What soft synths can you trigger? Short answer - any. Depends on how much patience you have. I trigger tassman basslines with some 25-year-old crap e-drum hardware.
