Hi everybody. Just joined the forum. I have a question on saving settings on the JV-1010. I'm using a Yam RM1x sequencer with the JV as the tone generator. Everytime I do an edit on the sequencer and also if I turn off the JV, I have to re-dial all the settings back to the patches I had set. Doing this in performance mode. I'm not sure if there any way to save the settings to be re-called later, but I thought I'd see if anyone knew of a way. Thanks for any input.

I own a XP30 and know a little about the JV-1010. I believe that if you are not just using preset sounds and setting up your own performances, you will need to have the JV connected to your PC and run the Sound Diver software that came with it to store mew patches/performances to memory. The JV-1010 is so cheap because of its simple user interface and lack of front panel sound manipulation/editing.

Jfn,

brzilian was right in his comment. I owned both a JV1010 and an XP30. With the JV 1010, you have to do all performance saving through Sound Diver.

Here's a trick for all sequencers. Just put a Program Change event at the beginning of each track and everytime you start the song from the beginning it will set all the patches.

Give yourself a few extra beats at the beginning for the patches to load.

As long as the patches are saved and ready to go you should be ok.

listen to TexRoadkill..
you can control all the settings by midi, so why not simply save it on the sequencer with the song?
Saves me alot of space on my supernova doing that..
