Roland GP100 or Digitech 2112. Which is better?

I use a BC Rich Ironbird and a Marshall Valvestate box. I want to get rid of my pedals and get a pre amp but what do i choose??? Everyone says either Roland or Digitech. What do all of you think?
 
I have used the Roland GP100 for years and have loved it. If you spend the time to tweek out the patch you want, you can get some great sounds out of it. It has just about every thing a guitar player would need. I have heard that the DigiTech 2120 Artist is a great unit, but I have never heard it. You might want to wait until the POD Pro comes out. It look like it will be a great unit.
 
I've owned two Digitech units, the original GSP 21, and the one right before the 2112 came out. It's some other number that I can't ever remember, and it's packed up right now so I can't look at it. Both are ok, and have loads of effects. Are you going to use it mainly for playing live, or recording? The Digitech units do a good enough job live, but are kinda noisy when it comes to recording. I would probably go with something else, such as the Roland unit if you are using it mainly for recording. I've seen ads for the POD pro, and it sure looks cool, but I hope they added a lot more than just a rackmount capability to it over the regular POD for the price increase I saw. If they did improve it over the regular POD I have now, then Fishmed is right, it'll be worth waiting for.
 
I guess that I should say that the Roland is great for recording, and it is much more flexible than the POD when it comes to tweeking out the sound that you want.

I will be using it mainly to record, but am always helping out other bands as a fill-in. Looks the ROland might be the better choice for me.
