Hi Everyone, Tonight I was playing my Roland HP-236 Digital Piano which is just over 6 years old and the A key below middle C stopped coming back up. I guess the little mechanism that brings the key up after being depressed snapped or something. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this and if this is an expensive repair? I'm afraid to just start unscrewing things. I was just about to sell it too. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

I would try opening it up just to take a look. Things you might look for are: dirt, is it rubbing against the next key. Sometimes just loosening the screws will free it up. A long shot but worth a try. If you can see how to remove the key it would be worth it to remove it and reinstall it to see what happens.

Of course, if you see that something is obviously broken, and you can't think of a way to repair it, it is best to take it to be repaired.

Just be sure to keep track of what screws go where when you take it apart so that you can replace them in the right places.

Best of luck.
