Rogue (insert product here) are normally complete crap, though in your case, the crap may not show up for a few, well, weeks.

Anyone wanna put bets on how long his new geetar will last??? :p

So do you have actual real world experience with this or is this just another bashing for the sake of bashing? The low end stuff "is what it is", Behringer, Rogue....

Share your bad experience and enlighten us.

yeah, that's what I said... :D

So from the looks of it....I really am the last to know

Dat's ok...Got the rod adjusted for the buzz and the thing plays just sweet...

I'ma happy camper.

I work for MF and the Rouge are house brand, but honestly for their price, they beat anything else in the range. Of course they aren't meant to be "high end" instruments. What do you expect for an acoustic that costs $50 ;)

I got a Rogue 5 string bass a few months ago from MF for a whopping $99
Im a guitar player, but wanted a bass around the house for throwing down bass tracks, out of the box I only had to adjust the bridge and give the truss rod a crank to eliminate some buzz, but I must say as far as my recording equipt. goes this is the best 99 bucks I have spent.
I probably wouldnt have had to do the adjustments but I tuned the 1st 4 strings to dropC.The thing sounds really good and is a breeze to play
Go figure
the same bass now is $139,when I got it,for unknown reasons the metallic blue only, was 99..looks like they forgot to put flakes in the paint??who knows :confused:who cares?

in comparison,my first guitar was a kay SG copy my parents bought for 99 bucks in 1980,it was total crap, but fun to do a pete townshend with on my terasso floor when I upgraded to Hondo
dont plan on smashing my Rogue, unless I upgrade to a Rickenbacker(I just think they look cool) :D

I was very tempted by the under $100 Mandolin that they sell. Unfortunately every review I read was negative. I still want one but it needs to at least be playable and it doesn't seem that they are from the reviews.

i've got the $150 Rogue F-style mandolin and with some better tuning machines and new strings, it's a VERY playable and respectable sounding instrument. it records very nicely, too. the new tuning machines were KEY to it staying in tune.

the binding and finish are pretty sloppy in spots, but you get what you pay for--it plays and sounds good, and that's what really matters IMO.

my major complaint is that within 5 minutes of getting it (it was a bday present from my wife), i fretted a C chord and immediately shaved off part of the 3rd fret's wire. NOT COOL. but it's been something i've easily worked around and again, you get what you pay for. one of these days i'm going to refret it.

but for a "beginning" instrument, i give it 2 thumbs up. i was really surprised at the tone and playability of that thing.

i have to admit, though, the Epiphone Mandobird is REALLY catching my eye here lately. :D

rogue acoustic

I ordered six $50.00 Rogue acoustics for my beginning guitar students a couple of years ago and I was very satisfied with all but 2 of them. One had a pretty bad blemish in the finish and the other one's neck broke right at the headstock. Musician's Friend replaced them both with no hassle.

A few of those kids are still playing those same guitars and they've gotten pretty good. IMHO, that might be the best $50.00 those parents could've invested for a first guitar. The action was very playable right out of the box. The sound is definitely better than I expected although the tuners are definitely a weak spot. As I said, these were kid's guitars so they haven't been babied but the ones I've seen lately seem to be holding up really well so the construction must be ok. I guess the broken neck must've been a shipping issue.

This is just my experience with one Rogue product and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of Home Recording .com or any of its other members. Some restrictions may apply. No warranty is expressed or implied. Happy New Year!
