Proud owner of a new Rode NTK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent all morning out with my wife christmas shopping.I truly had good intentions on why we were out shopping, we were going to buy for our kid, and try to pick up a few things for the rest of the family.Yea, right my gear addiction philosophy kicked in so I bypassed the mall and we headed for guess who?GUITAR CENTERS.Two months ago it was a part time addiction, every once in a while I'd pick something up, now every time I go out shopping my car seems to end up in guitar centers parking lot.Let's just say my wife was pissed!!!!!!!So,I've been eyeing the NTK for quite sometime and I've really wanted a tube mic. After I listened to it I was sold. Now the hard part was talking my sweet, beautiful, understanding, compassionate, sexy wife into allowing me to move this mic into my mic collection.Well it still hasn't happened but hey I figured my birthdays on the 10th along with christmas I'm going to buy it!!I went back there after dropping my wife off at the house and walked in there told the sales guy I want the NTK and the shockmount for $500.00 out the door.To my suprise he said you've got a deal. There's nothing my wife can say or do to me to ruin this special occasion.I have been blown away at the warmth I am getting with this mic!!!!!!!!!:D

Help!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife is beating the hell out of me and I'm actually enjoying it !!!!!!Thankyou NTK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

Gotta love it!!!!!!!

Well,my wife is still slapping me upside my head and considering she knocked out one of my molars my voice sounds even better through the NTK.Gotta love it!!!!!!! Thankyou NTK!!!!!!!!!!!!

NTK and guitars

I'm seriously considering the NTK as well. Mainly for vocals, but I would also be using it to mic a guitar cabinet (Fender Twin cranked) as well as a SM57. Is the volume of the amp going to hurt this mic? How good will it sound in this application? I will probably be close micing it.

I want a warm smooth guitar tone. I figure the tube will help.

I was just recording my Taylor with the NTK => Mackie 1202 VLZ Pro =>RNC => Recorder. The sound is really nice. Almost 3 dimensional, even though a mono track, and NO reverb added. I then did some noodling on a cheapo classical with the reverb set to 'cathedral.' I would characterize the sound as warm and sweet. The NTK is probably one of the best mics I have ever used, and it is certainly the best I have ever owned.

:)

My NT1000 just arrived a few minutes ago. I'm going to give it a workout tonight on acoustic guitars and percussion. First impression ; this thing is really heavy and solid....I hope my mic stand won't topple over.
