Rode NT2...AMAZING....

I just wanted you all to know that after reading many posts here and reviews in other magazines, etc, I picked up a Rode NT2 to use with my PC-based Digi001 system...I recorded my first vocal a few days ago using only the mic and the Digi's installed phantom power and pre-amp.

WOW.

I wish I'd have had this mic when I cut my vocals for my old band's CD!!!

I highly recommend this mic.

Of all the entry level big diaphragm mikes (Nady,Marshall etc.) the Aussie Rode company stands above the others mainly due to its great quality control.(I'm a QC guy for a music mfg. and I really notice that stuff).
I bought an NT1 last fall and I love it!
I also read your other post about pres and mixers.The mono ART Tube MP ($100) and the stereo Presonus Bluetube ($150)would be useful not only as inexpensive mike pres but also as a direct box and level matching tool.
The side benefit of tube-buffered pres over solid state circuitry is the slight compression and so called "warmth" they add.Thus the glut of tube-buffered gear now flooding the market to warm up so called "cold" digital tracks.
Good luck with getting your gear setup together.As much as possible,borrow from buddies or rent stuff first to make sure it fits in with your needs before putting out the $.
