Luckily mine is under warranty too, but.. perhaps I should think of another mic instead, iif it is going to break anyway, or the risk of damage is high... ?

If it is a faulty mic, you'd be unlucky for it to happen twice.
Broadly speaking, rode have a pretty good rep for quality, AFAIK.

I always love these conversations with in a conversation. :thumbs up:

Good morning everybody!

Good news today, my RODE distributor said "it was something wrong with mic indeed" and they will send me another one, so now it is my time o celebrate!:listeningmusic: The bad news is we will probably never know, what was really physically wrong with it, but the lesson is - don't hasitate to use your warranty. Especially in case of Rode. Good warranty policy.

Thanks fo help!

I would push to find out exactly what was wrong with that microphone.

It must be leaking capsule or someone other leaking (most case to ground) component or wire before or at impedance convertor/preamp (inside the mic).
Most case it happens from moisture and/or dirt, and is unstable process, less in dry air, more in humidity.
If close breath to mic capsule is increasing/changing noise affect - it is so.

Contact Rode right away. ASk them to help you out an explain your chain to them. They have a reputation to uphold and will help you find out what the problem is because the next step is returning the mic and buying another brand. If they hesitate, insist. All their mics are tested before shipping, so I'm sure it's not the mic. Good Luck,
Rod Norman

Good evening everyone,

I have some problems with RODE NT1A (just bought it few days ago). I can hear the constant buzz sound, like the voice of heavy wind. The mic is connected to GAP PRE-73 but it's probably nota an amp issue or wires, because it works perfectly on other mics. It is probably not computer fan too. Any ideas about it? I can attach a sound file tomorrow.
Thanks in advance for reply.

Best regards,
Jerry

Um, it might be a good idea to read the whole thread. Just sayin. :)

Hello!

Lots of work this week, sorry for my late response. My distributor told me, that they couldn't find out what was going on (admitting that SOMETHING really was), they just changed ALL the electronics inside, and they are going to send me the mic today. Very mysterious, but enough for me (as long as it works). Maybe just changing all the inside is easier than effort of investigation? I really don't know.

I hear it ...... sounds like a low pitched windrush sorta sound.
Definitely something wrong if it's very loud at all when using the mic.

edit .... I see all is now well ............. good.
