I have had the NT-1 for about 2 months and have had exceptional results til now. Suddenly the recorded sample (vocal) is full of static and distortions. It has to be the mic becasue my guitar track (acoustic soundhole pickup directly to cheapest Behringer pre-amp/mixer then on to Terratec EWS88MT sound card)was still excellent. I checked all connections and settings on the pre-amp and the control panel for the soundcard and all are exactly what they have always been. Do any of you more experienced audio teckies have any idea as to the problem and what I can do to test and correct.
Thanks. Paul

Sure, try the Rode on the same cable and chain you used for the guitar. If there's static and distortions, it's probably the mic.

Oh, and let us know how things turn out. We're wall to wall scientific here. :D

Thanks Dobro. I fooled around with the setup and found the mic cable was having intermittent problems. Used another cable and voila! - problem solved.

Not advice, but if the NT-1 is fucked within two months you will be able to get a replacement-tell them you'll settle for two to keep your mouth closed-LOL.

Hope it all works out.
