Here's a new one I've been jacking with for a little while now. Rami challenged me to write something that's not so fast and a little more "Bonham", so here we go, a song about my cock. :D

reminds me musically a bit like Max Webster (Kim Mitchell on guitar) if you know who they are, and their insane Pye Dubois lyrics (Pye Dubois co-wrote lyrics for RUSH Tom Sawyer. He is not a musician, just a lyricist).

you know, i've always been so impressed with your drum sound that i never thought to ask what the hell you're doing to get that guitar sound! it's always sitting perfectly in the mix, w/ just the right amount of grit. fantastic.

I'm wanting to hear the vocals more up front on this one (not in *my* face, mind you :D, but more "in your face")

Thanks dude. I've been cheating with the guitars. I use Guitar Rig II. I'd like to do it the old fashioned way, but I don't have the amps and stuff that I need for the sounds I like, so I use a sim. It's a kick ass program though. You can choose a bunch of different amps, cabs, mics, mic placements, effects, etc. I usually dial in a classic Plexi or JCM800 through a 60's style 4x10 cab, hang a simulated SM57 in front off-axis, and let er rip. I just plug my SG straight into the Firepod, bring up guitar rig, and go to town.

Thanks a lot. I struggled with the vocal level on this one. My first mixes had them a little too loud. Maybe I overcompensated. I haven't referenced it on other systems yet, so I may agree with you.

The verse needs some kind of countermelodic element. The guitar/bass lines mirror the vocal too closely.

Thanks a lot. I hear ya about the vocal melody, but that was intentional. I thought it would keep it kind of raw and dirty sounding. :o

If I remember right your using the CAD 7 piece mic-set? What are you doing eq wise to get that drum sound?
