We are campsite20 and we're from the chicagoland area. These songs were recorded at the Bombshelter with Dan Pricision (of 88 Fingers Louie/Rise Against/Break the Silence fame). Hope you enjoy... (or website is down right now but its usually www.campsite20.com)

- Fitz- a song off our demo recorded 11/8-9/2002

The next two songs are gonna be off our upcomming EP and were recoded 12/5-8/2003

- untitled1
- is it gonna rain?

thanks for listening

I listened to Fitz

Good lively song.. aggressive, i like the back vox. Tightly done. Remember to keep it about mixing in the clinic and don't forget to review some other threads while you are here. Exchanging feedback is what makes the clinic run.

I'd say i'd like a little more bass in the mix. The drums sound like they were produced well and overall the whole track jumps with a lot of energy. You sound like you guys will be good in a live performance.

Fitz is very nice. Like it was mentioned before, lots of energy. IMHO it needs more bass. Although punk rock is not my thing I have always enjoyed listening to it.

The only thing I didn't like (but it's not your fault) is the background yelling. It reminds me of the Pokemon theme song which when you play the background vocals backwards it says "oh satan oh satan". (weird huh!) Sorry got off track a little.

Sounds like real drums.

Good recording.

Wish I could pull a real drummer out of the closet.

I am not really in punk. But good sounding recording.

I'm more into post-hardcore and emo now, but I was into punk for a few years.

This reminds me a lot of Fat Wreck Chords stuff - like Tilt, Consumed, NOFX etc. You know what I mean.

Quite well produced, it works anyway. There are ways it could be a little more aggressive, but as for a demo to hand out to record companies, your sorted.

Where's my skateboard? just kidding.

I listened to is it gonna rain?. My Dad's favorite joke is, "is it going to rain if it stays like this" (mind you, it's not raining when he tells the joke). the punchline is "not if it stays like this... hahaha.. get it? get it?". yeah dad, i get it. anyways

it sounds great. i would also like to hear a little more bass in the mix to make it sound fatter. on the kick drum - my personal preference is for a thud and not a thwack (even though I do love the chili peps). your tune definitely had more of a thwack. maybe bring that more to the thud spectrum to help fill out the bass?

Good tune overall. Fits in nicely with mainstream punk, I think, so you guys have good shot at it (at what? i dunno). I don't listen to punk, ska and emo stuff but my old bass player and drummer love everything from nofx to mustard plug and the minutemen so I've heard a good deal of it. Yours sounds very professional. Keep it up.

wow thanks for the replies, guys and gals! I really never even noticed this thread existed til a few days ago... Rest assured, when I get back to school in a couple weeks and have a nice fast DSL connection, I'll be sure to do some listening and get some reviews up. (Dialup is a dog). Anyway, I thought all the recordings came out pretty good. The only beef I have is probably with drums on the recordings from this year. The kick is like WHOA in your face, but the snare is kinda rounded off in the background. Not enough attack. Dan was going for kind of a mix of Green Day's Dookie and the new Thrice (great sounding album). Kind of a thrice drum sound with the guitar and bass sound of Dookie (although the bass really doesn't compare). The stuff we recorded in 2002 with him we basically told him just to give us a nice fat sound.
