hello
I hear the RNC1773 is "really nice" but I'm scared that they couldnt think of a better name than "really nice compressor". Has anyone used this unit? Also, it says it uses TS or TRS cables...what does that mean?
See it here- http://www.fmraudio.com/

TRS are insert cables that can be plugged directly into the mixer's insert inputs. That's the beauty of this machine at the expense of lack of balanced connectors

TRS actually means Tip-Ring-Sleeve . What you need is a pair of TRS cables that look like a pair of stereo line connections. I'm currently using the RNC with my mackie's main inserts. Try it. It should work.

I love it! Hell of a lot better than an Alesis 3630 or my dbx 266, or my Presonus ACP-8.

Harvey Gerst (the "pope" of the rec.audio.pro newsgroup) even goes as far as saying he thinks it's the "niceist" sounding compressor he's heard under $1kUS.

I don't own one myself (yet).

Which brings me up to the next point...

I've been thinking about purchasing an RNC from Flechter of Mercenary Audio (www.mercenary.com) who is the "S8-N" of the r.a.p. newsgroup. But before I did, I was just about to ask... And I mean I was literally on my way to post a question for sonusman when I say your post.

So here's the question for sonusman:

Have you heard/used an RNC? If so, how do you like it compared to your Behringer X-model compressors? I've not heard any Behringer products myself, so I was hoping you had heard an RNC.

i'm also in love with this thing too.. Will be getting another one soon.. One unit is just not enough..
