rme fireface 400+ motu 8pré GOOD IDEA????

ok, hello there.

im about to do a project to record a reggeaband. and i need xtra 8 inputs to record the drums properly.

i got a laptop fiutsi siemens XI 2428 2.4ghz and 2 gig workingmemory

so the motu 8pré is good for his price.

still? can i connect fireface400 and 8pré?

and can i record with this laptop(brandnew) 16tracks straight?

all suggestions are welcome. just wanne make sure to buy the 8pré and that it works.

It should work fine, however the 8pre is kind of overkill for this purpose

however, however:

It would give you another sound card you could use separately for later, so if you have (or want) two setups, I'd say go for it

If not, just stick a behringer ada8k on there
 
surely the preamps on the 8pre are better than the behri?
