ring tones, selling songs on myspace

Any body start eitehr of these programs/services on hteir myspace site? or on your own .com?

Any luck with these services or are they bogus or ineffective?
 
Myspace is pretty new for selling tracks. I say every avenue is a good one. As for ringtones, I would give those away to help promote yourself.

I agree to the free ringtones, shit, most artists / places, charge like $2.99 a ringtone. Hell, I make ringtones all the time of other artists stuff, for free. As well as mine, and I give 'em away too.

well, I use audacity and take parts of the song I want for a ringtone.. and then I go to http://www.media-convert.com and convert it to the appropriate format, which for me is .qcp (Samsung phone), and then I send it to my phone, or put it on my sd card, or whichever.

Sending to the phone, just send a picture message to an e-mail address and you'll get your phones e-mail address, which you can then send pictures to, songs to, etc. Some phones like most motorolas can take actual MP3's but not very large ones, unless you have an sdcard to put them on. because the transfer of a text message to ap hone, can only take like 500KB, and most mp3's are well over that.. but a qcp, can be a 4 minute song and hardly be 200KB.. :)

Hope this helps your confusion.. it's taken me a while to figure it all out, but now I'm working on getting free games, and music videos. I'll get back to you on that later...

I chop what I want to be the ringtone in Cubase and then send it to mobileup.org. From there you can download it to your phone on your phone's web browser
 
Yeah i got A Motorola..and I got a few of my beats and collabs as my ringtone..i edited the song (MP3) in Wavelab (30-45 sec. max) then connect my phone through USB abd transfer the file that way..:D
 
Yeah I love my Razr...all kinds of hacks for it. Got a crapload of games backed up on a cd somewhere for my phone...but I do like you do bknot and have my beats as ringtones. People hear it and wonder what it's to. LOL

well i used some site callled myexertones.com ( i think thats the correct address) but my samsung phone wont "follow" the link that was sent to it - im stuck rite now!!!
 
**off topic** Yo Gully.. Nate goin work on his verse this weekend.. so hopefully I will have it mixed and ready to go next week...:thumbs:
