Rhythm Guitar Placement.

I sugest that you pan off center, but not hard. This will keep it from getting lost in the mix. Also, from the instruments you say are in the peace, the fact that it is a funk song and the reference to AWB (cool band, btw) I would suggest a clean guitar with just a touch of overdrive for warmth. Also a bit of chorus will give the guitar a thick sound. Though, a little WAH instead of chorus might give the guitar a bit of and edge that will keep it from getting lost. Hope that all helps.

Peace, Jim

I'm in the process of writing a funk piece
that includes sax,trumpet,lead,rhythm,bass
gits,keyboards and drums.
My question: The emphasis is on the horns,so
basically what part of the stereo field should the rhythm git be placed in.Mind you
that the rythm git is being used as a filler
and I have read that panning hard left or right is the answer, but doing so will make the rhythm git seem lost in the mix.N-E suggestions? Also what kind of effects can be used also for the rhythm git,Sorta like the rythm git played by "The Average White Band" As always thanking every-1 in advance.
