No help? can I tempt anyone by saying those are real drums?

Sounds really low-fi and really live. Almost like a basement tape, and not a studio recording. It's interesting and kind of cool. The vocals seem a bit high in parts and the backing vocals are a bit too in your face.

Thanks for the listens. My recording job is very amateur, so that probably explains the low-fi live sound rather than sounding engineered in a studio. All the parts were recorded seperate however. I worked all night in a friends garage, so maybe that produced that quality? Who knows. Regardless, I appreciate it.

The song is interesting. The recording does sound kind of lo-fi, but it might work for the song, but I am listening on cheap speakers right now so I can't comment too much.

Hey, checking out the tune.. typing as listening...
I definitely had to turn this up a bit in volume. The intro has a nice feel and groove. The vocals and guitar fit that feel well too.
When things get going around 1:50 sounds cool, the vocals are a bit distant in the mix, sounds like things could be separated a bit more. Maybe try some more intense equalizing on the guitar there for that seems to be the main space taker.
I'd bring up the guitar solo some too, for it feels buried by the rhythm.
Anyway, cool song and mood. Enjoyed it. Don't worry about a low budget studio, there's always tricks around that to make things sound better than they should. Just keep posting and recording and you'll learn more and more tricks. Cheers, enjoyed the track :)

I hate you - you have real drums :mad::mad::mad: Just kidding....but I am jealous. The cymbals are a little loud - could do with either compression or better still ride them faders.... This doesn't sound lo-fi, it sounds more "direct" especially the guitars. The vocals have a bit of a muddy sound which may be attributable to the type of mic you're using or maybe the effects or eq... Way better than my first attempts at recording so keep at it and keep posting. Definitely a post-millenium flavor to it, your writing is good....

Hey thanks for the listen. I agree on the muddy vocals. I had just used the 57 to record the snare, and I dropped it when I was setting it up for vocals. It COULD be that, or it could be like my voice doesn't have the best timber, and will sound muddy no matter what I do. I am going to put a compressor on the cymbals, because you're right, they are too loud and in your face.

Thanks again!
