Hi,
I asked a similar question on the rack forum but here I want a bit of a differnt response.

What do you fellow guitarists use for reverb;
-stomp box (which)
-amp reverb
-rack unit
-what you would ideally have (reverb based)
-satnd in a big hall; anything else; get the idea?

Cheers,
Krystof.

I use a rack unit since my amp doesn't have any reverb.(TC Electronics) But for guitar a quality spring reverb can't be beat. IMO... :cool:

Hi Krystof-

For electric guitar I use the reverb from a Lexicon MPX-500 if I'm recording direct input. If I'm miking an amp, I'll use the spring reverb from my amp. I like room or plate reverbs most of the time, but when playing leads I'll go for a hall reverb mixed with a tiny bit of digital delay mixed in (the delays are from my Akai DPS16).

For bass guitar I use just a small amount of reverb. If I use effects at all on bass guitar it's usually compression, or one of the distortion models from my Bass Pod. It has effects that were modeled after the Big Muff and Rat, and they are very effective sometimes.

Yamaha rev/7 or yamaha spx/90 Just like Campbell Soup they're mmm mmm Good!

I use the REAL thing. I've got a '63 Fender Reverb unit. I find that it works better with my vintage tube amps than digital stuff. As for my settings, I like reverb closer to the dry side of the pot say 40%, presence 100% and tone at 75%. I know every one is into digital these days because of small sizes and value but there's one magical thing a rack mount echo reverb can't do.........In the middle of a Link Ray induced electric guitar romp, I like to give the Reverb box a good kick and the sonic pleasure that comes from all of the springs clashing together as the overdriven tubes scream the Giant E Chord.........
