I'm looking for an effects box (mainly reverb) where I can run my drums, vocals, guitar, sax, etc. into at the same time - for playing live and recording.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice effects box, or just a reverb box. I'll probably need to be able to control 3 or 4 channels seperatly.

I'm looking for a really natural reverb. I've messed around with the Pro Tools D-Verb, but it sounds somewhat tinny, and electronic. So I'm looking for a peice of hardware dedicated only to reverb (and maybe a few other little effects I could mess around with).

The budget is probably around $100. Thanks!

How about the Alesis NanoVerb 18-Bit Digital Effects Processor?

I think Alesis might make some sort of outboard reverb for around that price. At that price point, your options will be mostly limited to various shades of "not really any better than the plugins." But you might find something fun and interesting if you look around enough. I'd recommend looking for some place that sells used gear, and see if you can audition some stuff on the floor.

ah man,

i got a Lexicon Alex,

nice machine, 16 presets,
14 reverbs (room, hall, some plates, GATE=nice i think, reversed...)
and also a chorus, flanger, delay,/// but don't use them often

i found it for less than $100 and i'm pleased with it,

compared to the alesis ...damn, was it the microverb?
and the tc electronic Mone i think the ALEX is MUCH better,
my opinion,
you can tweak the Decay, predelay and fx mix,
thats enough honestly,

i can make it sound dark and bright,
i like it more than allmost every software plugin i used,

there's much better stuff out there, but for this money?
mhhhh,

i strongly suggest this one..

You're unlikely to find a multichannel unit--most units are stereo (two channels). Do you have a mixer? If so, you can connect it to an auxillary channel and bus individual tracks to it that way.

I'd also not recommend tracking with reverb. If you don't like it later on, you're out of luck. Better to apply it during mixing.

TC Electronics makes a budget unit (M300) that sells on ebay for around $180. You may be able to find one cheaper. I've also heard decent things about the Alesis Wedge (they go for around $100), but I'm not familiar with its sound or specs.

You can probably find an Alesis Wedge reverb unit for that price or less. It's actually pretty good, and programming it is really easy. One of the best user interfaces around in my opinion.
