Just wondering what type of reverb (hall, spring, room, ect.) people usually put on drums? And also how much reverb on each section (snare, cymbols, toms, ect.)? Thanks

It really depends on the song. Anything from a hall to a chamber. Latley, people haven't been putting much reverb on anything. Just enough to slightly exagerate the room they were played in.

Usually a "small, mellow, room" verb. That's kind of generic sounding I know, but it depends on the song mostly. I usually run my drums through Sonitus:FX Reverb, or Waves TrueVerb. Usually I go with a quick decay (1/2 second or so +/-), and adjust the damping, pre-delay, early reflections and others by ear. I generally run all the drums through the reverb equally unless something needs to be more present (i.e. snare), in which case I run less reverb for that track. Sometimes I set up, a second reverb with a slightly longer tail for the overhead or toms to give a little more body during fills.

I've been using reverb quite a bit recently from .2secs right up to the grand canyon :D :D :D

I spent a while looking for "the right verb" because everything I had was to clean. I finally found my "right verbs" in the shape of an alesis midiverb one, I think it was among the 1st digital reverbs with a multiple selection of bright, mellow, dark, small, large, gated & reversed verb & it's 12 bit

I love this machine to bits for drum/percussion verb especially for the gated sounds

I tend not to reverb cymbals & hats though. Toms, kick & snare to varying degrees but it all comes down to "adding to taste" I suppose

I don't use any reverb any more. The kick triggers a dry sample, and the oheads add room to the kick. A fast release compressor on snare & tom mics seems to add a 'reverby' character that sounds good to me anyway

Depends on the track but more dry than not these days. Sometimes a small room tiny room closet type ambience just to make the drums a little bigger. I get the drums sounding good and try to capture that sound.
I have not close mic'd the toms in years. Just 2 OH's and BD and snare.
