Reverb for drums?

Hello folks,

I am newbie and I would like to know what kind of reverb will fit better for drums?

I am using a DAW and is disponible the Waves Truverb and RVerb Plugins. Which preset is adequate to start with?

Why not just try them yourself?

And what does "disponible" mean??

www.kvraudio.com will get you a list of almost all the reverb plugins out there. I've used RVerb on drums and it worked fine.
 
I apologize for my poor english.

I meant I have installed in my DAW the Waves plugins.


I know the best way is to try for myself. But I would like to know what kind of reverb is more suited for drums: "plates", "halls", "studios"...

I would not use either of the Waves reverbs for drums. They're both too grainy/metallicy sounding and will just fuck everything up.

Get yourself some nice impulse responces of some Lexi units from noisevault.com put them in some convolution reverb and hear them.

Still can't beat well programmed Lexi or Kurzweil reverbs.
 
its all in a matter of taste.......

me personally, i like to run all the drums (except the snare) into a medium size 'room' reverb, .....but then ill run the snare into a Hall reverb, for a bigger/longer echo trail.

but its all a matter of taste of how you want it to sound. Some people dont like a "BIG" washed out HALL sound, while some prefer a smaller/tighter ROOM sound....

its all personal preference.....
 
What kind of music are you doing? You can't answer the question of what kind of verb to use without having this starting point. Jazz drums have wildly different verb requirements than Metal drums for example.
