Does anyone out there have this? It sounds pretty damn good, but; Is there a way to hear the effects WHILE you're playing the guitar? I can only seem to hear them after I've recorded the guitar clean, and then added them after. It's kind of a pain in the ass, but so far this is the best amp simulation I've heard, y'all should check this shit out.

I believe that if you use SONAR and have WDM drivers for your soundcard, you can play the ReValver DXi in real-time.

AlChuck is correct. I've been using ReValver for a year and a half , and since Sonar came out I've been able to use it as a real time amp simulator with Sonar. ...... If you can't use WDM or your computer isn't that fast , check this out : Line6 GuitarPort

http://www.line6.com/guitarport/

This was announced back in January and should be released pretty soon (next month or so ). Kinda odd that no one is talking about it. It is supposed to allow you to record 24 bit processed guitar tracks with your PC.

j,

There was a flurry of posts about the GuitarPort when it was announced a month or so ago. Maybe there'll be more when it starts shipping...

thx AL, j,

I'm still very new at this pc recording stuff (going on my 5th day now), I've yet to get a good sound card too. Right now I'm using whatever came with my pc, P-4 1.6, 256 MB, 40Gs, XP, and Guitar Tracks Pro. It's blowing my mind, the possiblities with this shit, its just crazy. The Line 6's I've heard are ok, but the only way to really get a really good recorded distortion tone is to use a mic (or so I've found). Any idea on how much the guitar ports gonna go for?

In Europe the Guitarport is about 250 € I think, but I'm not sure.

Btw, if anybody knows, what more does the guitarport have to offer me than my POD?

I'm using Revalver full-time now too. Unbelievable sound. I use outboard distortion units though because the gain on Revalver is just too darn noisy. It's a shame because it's distortion is the best I've ever heard outside of a real amp. For POD and J-station guys, I'd encourage them to trying running their recorded guitar tracks through Revalver and see if it doesn't make them sound a lot better. It'll punch up anything.

What you have to do is run Revalver through an effects loop on the soundcard to hear it in real-time.
