Reuse tape

I have some old tapes that I had previously recorded on that I wanted to use. As i watched the new footage I had a problem. Midway thru the new footage it starts to pixelate and the previously recorded footage came thru for a split sec. then back to the new footage. Has anyone had this happen to them.

Exactly what sort of tape are we talking about here...? Digital video?

It is on a mini dv tape

It's printing through, and yeah, time for some new tape--obviously.
