Replacement for Audiogram 3

Hello all,

First I'll explain my current set up.

I'm running cubase AI4 with Amplitube as an effects rig for my guitar. I'm running my guitar in using the Audiogram 3 and outputting it to my sound card. The issue I have with this set up is there is some latency when is throwing me off and I can run it all out of the Audiogram as it's got direct monitoring hard wired so I can hear the clean guitar over the Amplitube.

My home studio is merely for recording drafts for tracks and writing.

I'm trying to work out what to get as a replacement as I only really want to spend £80 (I will go up to £100 but would rather not)

The 2 I'm currently looking at are

Alesis M1 Active 320 USB
I'm a bit wary with Alesis as I've got a DM10 electric kit and I think the build quality is a bit naff and their customer services isn't that great.

or the Akai RPM3 Production Monitors with USB Audio Interface

I'd post links but I'm not allowed yet lol

I'm open to getting a stand alone interface and running the sound out of my sound card or running the sound out of the interface through my PA too if people think that would work.

I'd get my guitar tone handled externally (SansAmp or Pod or something) and use the direct monitoring of the interface. If you really don't think you can get it right that way then record the clean signal and the affected signal at the same time so you can redo the sound later using an amp simulator.

I have tried recording with my pedal and amp hooked up to the interface directly and I found it sounded really tinny and lifeless. I'm not too keen on recording using the direct monitoring and I think I'd lose the feel of some riffs... ones that are heavily delayed for example.
