Repairing an H2n

After 4 years and a few months, the H2n I have seems to have given up. In recent weeks, it was gobbling up the battery in minutes. When I went to use it recently, it wouldn't turn off via the standard slider mechanism on the side.

After that, it failed to turn on and hasn't done since. Are there any options to repair this for a price that is cheaper than purchasing a new one? I have found a modest offer for a potential replacement. But it is still pricy and shouldn't be necessary in my opinion.

Cheers.

Unfortunately, when a competent technician will probably charge you $80-100/hr for service, and a new H2Essential is $180, it becomes questionable as to whether repair is a good option. If it requires some parts, and 2 hours of labor, you are looking at spending more for repair than for replacement.

A replacement of an H2Essen or H4Essen also gives you 32bit Float recording so you don't need to worry about levels. Sometimes an upgrade is worth it.

Do you have the Adapter? When you plug it in does it work normally? Are your batteries rechargeable? If so replace the batteries as they have reach the end of life - the least expensive fix if for you to test the power source - with a multimeter - otherwise as @TalismanRich said a Tech is going to be minimum of $100 Plus Parts to fix the unit.
