Hi guys,

I got a weird kind of problem: I produced a song in Reaper, and since it's completely finished, I wanted to make a WAV-file out of it. I rendered the song and that went well, but after the rendering I clicked "Launch the file", and for some reason, windows media player couldn't play it. Pretty annoying, since I need a WAV-file of it!

My question is, does someone around here know what this is about? And how can I make this render-thing work well? I checked the Reaper manual like a million times, but it didn't get me any wiser... it just should be okay by rendering :P.

If someone knows how to solve this, I'm very thankfull ;)

Greets, Chris

Did you render it in 16-bit format? I'm guessing WMP won't play 24-bit files (just guessing)

I'd try it on another media player or two to make sure the WAV is actually corrupt.

I second the motion would strongly bet that you've got it exporting at 24 bit (as mjbphotos said), and/or higher than 44.1/48khz. WMP is a little strict about formats (for no good reason, again as mjbphotos mentioned): try iTunes, Winamp, VLC Player, or Foobar.

+3 the 24-bit rendering---won't play with MS Media Player

Always render down to 16bit/44.1khz (cd quality)

....and STOP using WMP and download VLC instead....
