How do I go about removing a mic capsule without ruining it? Do I have to "handle with care?". How do I open up my mic anyway? I was looking at my mic and I dont see any screws etc, so how do I open it up?

try a hammer or a 2x4.

or

unscrew the appropriate screws, unscrew the appropriate parts of the mic housing if indicated, remove the connecter if needed, unsolder the correct wires, undo the capsule mounting hardware and there it is!

be careful not to punch holes through the capsule, or it won't sound right.

or

let us know what kind of mic it is.

Nothing is wrong, just want to take a look inside. :)

Dangerous task my friend! You could ruin the mic by touching the diaphragm. Not that it would hurt the sound of a V63 much. That mic needs alot of work to make it sound better.

Unscrew the bottom retainer ring (bottom part of the mic) and slide the body off. On the plate that holds the grill on there are two screws. Simply unscrew them and the grill comes off. Don't lose the little peice that guides the body to indicate the front of the mic.

BE CAREFUL!!!! GO SLOW!

First you have to unsolder the leads. Then there are 4 screws on either side of the saddle. You'll need a jewelers screwdriver!

Be careful!!!
