Relative cheap studio microphones. What do you think?

Anyways, who could take these too seriously with a name like T-Bone?
Come on, that name is no worse than Studio Projects.

I apologize for the tone of my post. As for the 2nd quote you attribute to me, I think you have me confused with someone else.

In the past, people have come to this forum, and had artificial dialogs about mics they had a financial interest in, in an attempt to create a "buzz". Since it seems I was mistaken about this, I apologize.
Well, you know the thought crossed my mine too... lol. Anyway, I don't know anything about the SE T-bone mics so I'll butt out now. :)

Thanks for the apology, I see where you're coming from. I come from an electronics and computer background and since my first days on a green screen vax terminal at college I have witnessed a lot of 'newbie bashing', I thought that's what was going on.
I have to say that this forum is remarkably good on that front and is the first one that I've actually got into. I wish I had found it years ago, then I might have some more decent gear unlike the behringer MX2004 rotting away here next to me (imagine my dismay when I plugged a mic into that one) The powersupply is pretty handy though, and it did prompt me to make my own mic pres :)

Regarding the quote it's from the thread 'Time to boycott companies that reverse engineer?' which I had just read by coincidence!

Wow! Strike 2 on me. That is my quote. Did not remember that one. Anyway.... No newbie bashing here. The only reason I used that term was I thought you guys registered just to push that mic. So lets start anew, and welcome to the board Paddy.

:) Thanks,

I've seen a lot of that kind of 'marketing' by small companies in electronics. Like someone says I need a tool to do X,Y,Z,P,Q,R (cut and pasted from a product brochure) and then someone recommends a tool that just happens to fulill all the requirements. You have to wonder about the longevity of these companies, if they put the same time and effort into making a better product they might have a chance

Simple Test!

OK
Go buy a mic from T bone and one from SE then get a really expensive one ( £ 900.00)
Lend one or hire.

Record two tracks with a vocalist with some backing on each mic.
Burn it to CD and go play at your mates place or even better your girlfriends.
Ask them to rate the vocals.
Any bets on which mics get picked!

All voices are different and so are the mics.
Better to have many cheaper ones than one really expensive one that doesnt suit a voice.

Cheers
Bob
