My son's kit has seen quite a bit of travelling and I've been thinking about having them recovered or perhaps doing it myself. I've found several websites that can do the work which seems a bit spendy while others will sell the materials. The on-line instructions seem fairly straight forward but was hoping to hear from someone who's done this themselves.

Anyone?

Punkin,

I suggest you drop into http://www.ghostnote.net/vbforum/ ............it is a forum for guys who make and/or refinish/repair drums and the search function there should give plenty of info. Actually, http://www.drumshed.org/forum/ is the original Ghostnote site so probably start there first.

DS is the quieter of the two but there's a lot of info to be had and some nice guys there, when the original site split a couple of years ago, most of the rowdy idiot element went to the new GN.

Fairly easy, as long as you take the right steps :-) Preparation and measuring is key.

You'll want to go with the adhesive method using a good bonding agent like those 3M makes. Don't go with tape, as you'll have a bubbled mess within a year or two. I've re-wrapped 3 kits, 2 of which that formerly had been re-done with the tape method.
