I have an asr10 that I make beats on, and I want to record them to tape. I have done this with a regular home stereo and there is toooooooo much hiss, I can barely hear the beat. Now if I buy a four track, such as the Tascam Porta 02 will this eliminate the hiss. I want to record the beats from my asr10 and accapella's from my turntable. How would I go about this setup, would I hook up the Porta 02 to the asr or the mixer? I just want to make some simple albums nothing to hard to work with. Is there any other for track recorder that you would recommend? I like how it says that the Porta 02 uses regular home stereo tapes........any suggestion please?

Well I've bought this old Tascam 244 Portastudio, it's already used but it's great. For so little money you can use this four track for about everything, also for recording your beats.
Just connect the output of your unit to one of the inputs of the Tascam, use the headphone-out or another output for your monitoring, hit record and there you go.
You'll get your recording on the ordinary cassettes, with Dbx, kinda old but if you're not recording more than 4 tracks you'll hardly notice background hiss if you do it well.
This is the best suggestion I can give.

Or... you could use your computer and then download a demo of a software program (that way, you don't have to spend any money, except for the cables needed to connect to your PC ).
