so i record hiphop vocals..and i usually record myself (in the same room i mix) so i cant really monitor the sound...does that mean every piece of rack gear i buy..imma have to set, then record, then if it doesnt sound good i guess again and reset it..and record..ect..

that seems a bit time consuming and not very practicle..but is that my only option?

pretty much. you could use headphoes, and I assume you are. But it doesn't
do the trick fully.
Get an evil twin, or bring a buddy along.

Hehe...yeah, that is the most effective way! (Also the fastest)

I've managed to use Headphones and switch back and forth... It works alright...

If you really need the rack gear and not plugins, send it through the rack gear after you have recorded it to the computer.

yeah but if i bring buddy...i would have to find somebody that knows how to use the gear..and have a good ear...that might be difficult..

as for headphones..ae you saying monitor through the headphones, and while im recording tweak the rack gear?

and as for sending it through the gear after recording..that sounds like the best way..how do i do that? and can i make it real time..like send it through gear after recording and while its playing tweak the stuff? how would that effect the quality?

thanks alot guys

That's what I do, after tweaking my gear, I usually don't touch it again, except when my voice changes daily (minor adjustments).

If you're doing it yourself, it's the only way.

BTW, what software are you using?

You did all the vocals, including back ground?

BTW, have you ever sold drugs?

yeah i do all the vocals..exept for hustlin where i collabed with a friend

why do u ask about drugs? no iv never sold drugs..if your talking about the hustlin track..listen to the lyrics better..it has nothign to do with drugs..??

I wish I was selling durkgz. I might be able to afford going back to school....

What mic did you use on hustlin? It seems to fit your voice pretty well or maybe its mic placement.

The vocals for "every day I'm hustlin" could be a tad better. Did you try different notes?

the "every day im hustlin" is a sample..i did not record that...
