So with this preamp hooked up to my soundcard i can get record two tracks at the same time however a quick question: can you use one mic with phantom power and the other without? for instance with the dmp3 could i use the sp b1 through input one and a shure sm57 through imput two? or since one must use phantom power i can only use either two phantom power mics or two powered mics? nd also what are the real differences between an audio buddy and dmp3 (for a newbie)?

Phantom power will not have any effect on an SM57- go play.-Richie

What Richie said. Dynamic mics are wired so that there's no circuit for the phantom power to run through. So if one mic doesn't need power, switching it on for the other mic won't make it explode!
