recording with nuendo

im recording at home with a Samson C01 Studio Condenser Mic and a Tascam soundcard on nuendo.I want to know how do i make my vocals sound cleaner,because for some reason my vocals are coming out with a hum in the background

You bought an $80 mic to use with your $1000 software? That seems backwards to me. Get a better mic.

Is there a mic preamp built into the card? If not, you need one.
You could have saved $500 by getting cubase SX and used that money to buy some decent equipment.
