Recording with a mixer and a portable recorder.

Hey folks,

I have a Mackie CFX20 mixer board and I also have a Yamaha AWG16 portable recorder unit. On the mackie, there are four sub channels and then there are the two main outs. I was wondering if its possible to do all of my recording using the mixer board and plugging it into the recorder. Would that work or how could I use that combination of the the two?

Use the inserts as a direct out for individual channels. Put your plug in to the first "click".

would I get any feedback if I recorded drums/bass/guitar in an open room? Mainly from the mic set up on the drums?
