For some unforseen reason my cubase is acting up. I have cubase sx and I had to re-install on my computer because of a virus. Now, when I tried to record vocals over a track I made in reason, cubase records the music from the previous audio tracks on to the one I have selected for vocals. Whatr could be the problem? I have no Idea at this point.

I can't tell from the way you worded your post, but if your saying that you are hearing the vocals you recorded, but the other music is recorded along with the vocals on the track then it is a sound card setting.

Look for a box with words to the effect "Record what I hear" in your soundcard setting and uncheck it.

Thx Fellas...looks like I'm back in business. I had an Idea but something so simple can keep you from working

same problem, help :(

Im having the same problem; all the data from the other tracks is recorded onto the track that I am using to record from line in. I didnt see any option in my soundcard settings to not record the audio output. Im also using a soundcard that has 1 line in and 1 line out, is that a problem?

Jphilli, try double-clicking your little yellow volume speaker you see in the lower right corner assuming you're runing a windows platform. That should bring up your play control. Under options click on properties. Under "adjust volume for" choose recording then click ok. That will give you the option of choosing line in to record.
