Recording vocals Question??

Im a big newbie here and I was jus wondering what is the best way to record vocals for R&B and rap music??? Mono/Stereo??? Please explain the diffrence

mono = 1 speaker, or both speakers playing the exact same thing.

stereo = 2 speakers (or more) with different audio coming out of the left/right sides.

google it.

A single voice that is unedited would be a mono signal.

yup..
and pretty much all my stuff is tracked in mono then panned/EQ'd etc to different places in the stereo field.
The only instrument I can think of that I track in stereo would be the keys. They have the L/mono and R out that I'll run into the board and pan them hard left/right.
Guitars bass vocals all go in mono and then pan em around the stereo field during the mix.
