Hello there,

I recently got an Edirol Firewire FA-66, i also have an AKG K271 closed back studio headphones and a Audio Technica AT2050 condenser mic. I'm new to the whole home studio thing. I've followed the instructions on the user manual and now i'm having some problems figuring out how to record and what program to use.

Could Anyone help me by suggesting what a good program would be?

Try Reaper.

www.reaper.fm

Unlimited free trial or 60 dollar purchase. Will have everything that you need to get started plus more.

There are tutorials for using it on the reaper site. It's really great stuff. Hopefully you get your interface running smooth and get ta' recording!

Good luck, Eric

Do you know how to configure Firewire into this? Thats the main problem that I encounter with programs. I can't seem to figure out how to configure the firewire into the program so I can use my mic and headphones.

Not certain, never really used Reaper, but if 'configuration' with the program is the problem then I'm assuming you have the Firewire installed properly...

Go into Reaper and check any connection settings etc... Check what Audio Driver it is using, and check to see if ASIO is on (is this true with Reaper/All interfaces??? I don't know)...

If you haven't got the Firewire card installed yet, or installed properly that's a seperate problem...

Alright, well I'm just using Acid Pro 7.0 now. I figured out how to get everything working. I just have a small problem. My microphone only records to the left side. I know that there is two plugs the input 1/left and input 1/right. So my new question is.

Is there any way to make my microphone record for a more centered sound without having to change ACID Pro 7.0 to make the sound go more towards the right side?
