hi, new here.
i just got a new computer with Windows Vista on it and have some troubles setting it up to record how i used to with my laptop.
i record with guitars and preamps and electric drums, or simply putting a miceraphone to amp and having it all go to a mixer, then use one of the outputs on a mixer to connect to the line in of my comp. this is simple cheap, and fine for me but i cant get audacity to work as well as it should.
the problem being that the tracks i record distort and clip at a much lower input then before (in the programme) eg (lets say) the 3cm height of the track on my screen only fills up 2cm before the quality gets seriously effected.
also it wont let me record a 2nd track with a mp3 or wav file. says something about the bit/herts rate not being compatable.
the only difference between my new comp and old comp that i could see efecting audacity is the realteck HD audio manager thats built into my new computer.
so any way to fix this or any suggestions about new software is greatly appreciated.
ta, Matt!
